April 2026 Newsletter

Inside this issue:

Answering your questions:

  • In response to your questions, our February and March 2026 newsletters focused on different kinds of physicians that may (or may not) have experience caring for polio survivors.

  • We are rounding up this series, with information from Post-Polio Health International that explains the kind of professional assistance many survivors need and why we need it.

Vaccination Campaigns in High-Risk Countries:

  • Pakistan is a leader in their response to this issue. “The preventive vaccination campaign led by Pakistan in partnership with the World Health Organization protected 34 million children against measles-rubella nationwide and 19 million against polio in 88 high-risk districts.”

As we honor World Immunization Week, we are reminded that Polio, Measles and many other debilitating viruses are only a plane ride away.
