Herbal Supplement GABA

Question:  Is the herb supplement GABA (Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid) something that could be beneficial for those sleepless nights? I currently take melatonin to help sleep but thought this could be a better option.

Dr. Bruno’s Response: As of this date, there hasn’t been any good research on using GABA supplements for aiding sleep. Researchers haven't confirmed whether GABA supplements work or even if they reach the brain to have any effect.

Save your money and any side effects. I would recommend you talk to your doctor about having a sleep study to find out why you can't sleep.
