Question:

After numerous rejections, my attorney just informed me that my SSDI claim was approved after following your protocol. Would I have been approved if I followed your directions the first time?

Answer:

After reviewing your SSDI application, you would have been approved the first time. When polio survivors are applying for SSDI, go to this page in the Encyclopedia (Look under Social Security)

  1. Read the Procedure for getting SSDI.

  2. The four documents you will need are available for download, in easily edited and printable formats so each can be changed to add your own personal information.
    A. SSDI Procedure
    B. SSDI Report Template for your Doctor
    C. Application Letter for SSDI to send to your Congressman
    D. Denial Letter (should it be necessary) for your Congressman

We have discovered that when your application and doctor's report focuses on the Social Security Ruling requirements for disability, and the Social Security Ruling for Post-Polio Sequelae is attached to your documents, approval is almost assured.
