The Magic Power -Ethan, Mia and the Amazing Vaccine

By: Karin Aaron & Danny Friedman

A Book Review by Avery and Ariana

In this book, Ethan and his sister Mia need to get a vaccine. Mia is terrified and thinks needles are scary. Their dad explains that vaccines help to keep them healthy and are used to fight a virus or bacteria.

Ethan tries to help by telling Mia “Let’s use our magic power of imagination”.

Ariana: “I have an imagination and could see my sister saying something like this, to help me! Ethan wants Mia to pretend that the “Doctor is a magician, and the vaccine is her magic”. I like magic and I think doctors are amazing, so I see how this may help her. In the end, Mia agrees that she had nothing to be scared of after all.

Ethan tells Mia to think of a vaccine like a “knight fighting the bad guy”. I liked that because I think I am a princess!

We think this book would be great for younger kids, who have an imagination. Having an imagination can make something scary, less scary and fun. Using your imagination can help you so you’re not focused on what scares you.

We give The Magic Power - Ethan, Mia and the Amazing Vaccine

Two Thumbs Up !!
