Fasting and Neuron Function

Original Post: If fasting can increase neuron function in the brain, what effect would it have on muscle?

Dr. Bruno’s Response:  Asking about the effects of fasting on brain neurons versus muscle fibers is like comparing apples and oranges. Polio survivors should never fast. Even religions where fasting is required exempt those who have medical illnesses from fasting.

Polio survivors need protein for their remaining, poliovirus-damaged neurons to function.
